Entertainment Contracts
A well-drafted and fairly negotiated contract can serve as the foundation of a strong working relationship. At the same time, poorly written or one-sided agreements can leave all parties worse off.
Whether you need to draft or review a deal memo, submission release, music licensing agreement, waiver, or other kind of agreement, we can help.
Contracts can be complex and complicated--often by design--and it can be difficult to know exactly what kind of a deal you're actually making without discussing it with a qualified attorney.
Some examples of red flags we were able to bring to our clients' attention before they signed an agreement include: a book publisher trying to have the power to unilaterally edit anything in the writer's book without the writer's permission; a record label conveniently failing to include a date when advances and royalties would be due, and not including any way for the artist to audit the label's records; and an employer trying to prevent their employee from ever saying anything remotely critical about the employer.
Any time you sign an agreement without discussing it with a qualified attorney, you are putting yourself at risk of being legally bound to something you never intended to be bound to. That's why we offer contract reviews for a flat fee.
For a limited time, we are offering contract reviews for a flat fee for contracts up to fifteen (15) pages in length. This includes a phone call of up to sixty (60) minutes so that we can review what is in the agreement and you can share any questions or concerns you have. Some limitations apply; see below for details.
Examples of Contracts/Agreements:
Record deals
Book deals
TV/Film deals
And more
If you're not sure whether the contract or agreement you want reviews qualifies for this flat-rate review offer, feel free to call or email us.
